How to Cut Pineapple (SHORTS)

Writer: Innichka ChefInnichka Chef

Cutting pineapple is not a difficult thing to do. But cutting it the CORRECT way, that showcases the fruit in an appealing presentation is another matter. And I have noticed over the years that many people do know this technique but there are many people who avoid cutting fruit themselves such as pineapple, mango, etc.

I always cut all my fruits and veggies in order to safe money and reduce unneeded preservatives (chemicals) in my food.

Watch this quick video-tour on how to cut pineapple into boats, which is a cute and fun way to eat it. These pineapple boats are a wonderful display for fruit platters, Charcuterie boards or for fruit salads.

Why You Should Cut Pineapple Yourself?

  • To avoid preservatives. All fruit salads in a store have chemicals added to extend the shelf life.

  • Safe money.

  • Use up the skin and rind(core) for other recipes such as as pineapple kombucha or a Mexican fermented drink called pineapple tepache. By the way pineapple rind (core) is edible, did you know that?

  • By cutting pineapple or other fruits yourself reduces the chance of salmonella poison.

  • Opportunity to have a hands on experience with your kids.

Hopefully, this has convinced you to cut your own fresh whole pineapple! Enjoy and have fun!
